Over the last few days we have made several changes to the blog to better help the whole user experience  of visiting beats from the east. We have also added in the podcast facility - so now you catch the show online incase you missed it!

Also, more importantly we have 2 new people joining the beats from the east blogging team!! ... welcome Amit & Sonal !!

Modify What will they be bringing to Beats from the East?

This addition to Beats From the East will help diversify the extent of our blog. Now we have more than just music review's and playlist. Amit and Sonal will be bringing in detailed bollywood movie & soundtrack reviews - a feature that a lot of people have asked us for.

The bollywood movie review will include the plot synopsis along side with Amit's personal review of the movie as a whole - also watch out for his ratings!

Sonal will be working on reviewing the hottest bollywood soundtrack releases along side her ratings on them as well. She will also be maintaining and adding new features to the blog as time passes...so send her any tips you have here.

With them on the team, the blog volume will definitly be up and again bring more diversity in terms of content. We also intend to categorize everything really well incase you maybe interested in one aspect of our blog.

What will I be doing?

I will continue to focus on the show and will start reviewing artists and albums within the bhangra/asian fusion/chillout scene. Also making sure to have the most recent podcast of the show as well as the corresponding playlist.

Finally, we managed to get hold of http://www.beatsfromtheeast.com so you can now link us from there too...

Let us know what you think about these recent changes,
Cheers ! AshishB.

Where to get Music n' Movies? Groceries even?

Qw Colorado (compared to some other states) doesn't have too many Indian stores so it makes the tracking a little more tricky. Hopefully this will resolve any questions people have about where to buy music cds and rent bollywood movies in the Denver / Boulder region.

Boulder

Shree Emporium
623a S Broadway St
Boulder, CO 80305
(303) 494-0220

They have a good collection of movies out for rent and great service as well - check them out. Plus their rentals are cheap ...they also are good for indian groceries too.

**for renting specific movies - i'd call in ahead of time to make sure they have a copy to rent out

The scene for getting hold of audio cds in Boulder is very limited - i would suggest Itunes at this point or if you can head over to Bombay Bazzar in Denver

Denver

Bombay Bazaar
3140 S Parker Rd # 4
Aurora, CO 80014
(303) 369-1010

By far have the biggest collection of audio cds I have seen for the entire state of Colorado. They have everything from classic bollywood sounds from the 70's to the heavy urban mixes of bhangra tunes. Great for indian groceries. One of the most established Indian Stores out there ( been in Colorado for over 10 years!).

India's Harvest
3095 S Peoria St # D
Aurora, CO 80014
(303) 751-8571

Good selection of movies to rent out - they also have a  little section on the side of the store to eat "Chaat" food - this is food that street vendors serve in India ...if you're feeling adventurous - I'd recommend trying :

- Pao Bhaaji
- Bhel Puri

**for renting specific movies - i'd call in ahead of time to make sure they have a copy to rent out

There are other stores that fall in between these regions - so feel free to drop us an email if you'd like that info up here. You tell us the place - we'll do the research ;) Also if you know of a place that you would reccomend - let us know
